3 PUPILS STABBED AT CAPE TOWN SCHOOL
Three pupils were stabbed at Atlantis Secondary School, allegedly by a matriculant, the Western Cape Education Department confirmed on Thursday. The injured children were in grades 11 and 12. The attack, which took place on Tuesday, is believed to be gang related.
The principal reports that, during first break, a shooting occurred in the community just behind the school. At the exact time of the alleged shooting, a grade 12 learner allegedly attacked three other learners at the school. The pupils were in a stable condition after being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Gangsterism is a very serious issue plaguing our schools and communities. we are no longer safe on schools even in our societies. The teachers at school and leaders in our communities are failing to protect us. So readers what can we do to stop this?.

It's sad you know our parents send us to school to become better people, not to be injured, not to harm other pupil.
ReplyDeleteI personally think in order to tackle problems like this the society it's self must take responsibility in any wrong doings, report unlawful behaviour to the police because all of this starts within the community where children grow, So they get carried away with crime which leads to them attacking other students, getting involved in gangsterism.

DeleteIt seems like school is no longer the safe place. Teachers and community members need to help students with something that will make them busy. I think students do these things because they feel lonely at times

DeleteI believe before the police take any actions towards this issue, we as the community members should first address each other and work together to fight this tragic occurance. The formation of community forums that fight against gansterism is our way to a safe society.

ReplyDeleteIf you guys look at this carefully, it's not up to the teachers, it's students who don't obey the rules.
I say community must work together with police as well as teachers and parents must stop defending their children when they have done something illegal, they must let them feel the consequences of their actions.

ReplyDeleteThe only way to stop this, is for the community to make some rules to be followed and if an individual can not abide by those rules, they must be eliminated by force, either by crucifying them or by having them locked behind bars.
ReplyDeleteWe are not safe at all but teachers are not to be blamed because this is beyond their control. Community leaders, teachers and parents need to work together to overcome this. They need to start projects that will keep children busy so that they cannot think of doing something wrong.

ReplyDeleteI think incidents like these occur because of bullysm and gangsterism that takes place at school. Thorough search should be done before students enter the premises of the school and students found with dangerous weapon should be punished.

ReplyDeleteThe Western Cape one of the highest province that has increased gangsterism in our country. Children are exposed to these crimes as they usually occur in the streets, there is more that should be done by the government and the community to reduce this.
